320 guests including 28 finalists and 15 sponsors enjoyed a 3-course meal in the Treetops Pavilion of the West Midlands Safari Park, after a warm welcome by host, former Paralympian and God Medallists, Marc Woods. The event was officially opened by Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership Chief Executive, Gary Woodman and included a surprise performance by undercover singing waiters who got everyone on their feed, waiving their colourful napkins in the air and singing along to well known hits such as ‘That’s Amore’ and ‘Mamma Mia’.
The level of energy was maintained throughout the night and the sponsored Twitter wall capturing social media posts from the event was on fire. In a flurry of confetti, the two overall winners were announced before the awards evening drew to a close with final words by Cllr Marcus Hart of Worcestershire County Council.
Marc Woods, former Paralympian and host of the Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards 2019, said:
“I would like to say congratulations to all of the finalists and winners at this year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of such a positive event and Worcestershire can be immensely proud of the apprentices, employers, schools, training providers and careers leads who work tirelessly to make apprenticeships the success that they are.”
As appointed event organisers, Opening Doors & Venues worked in close collaboration with the client team committee and managed the full event organisation and production process, with support on the night from AV provider, Mercian Events. Bespoke animations and case study videos were produced for the event by Stone’s Throw Media and DT Studios.
