Black Country Talent Match Awards is back! The National Lottery Funded project has had a change of focus, being one of only four TM programmes across the country to receive funding extensions for another 3 years. TMBC are still committed to celebrating the achievements of young people and recognise the crucial contributions of mentors, partners and employers, who have worked closely to increase the confidence, optimism and resilience of programme mentees, with the aim of reducing levels of, and ultimately avoiding, re-offending and guiding young people's progress nearer and into sustainable employment.
An event like no other when it came to the levels of positive energy and enthusiasm in the room, the TMBC Celebration took on a different format this year, starting after lunchtime and finishing with a toast and a Grab&Go hot drink at 5pm. Five awards were presented on the day, with the big winner of the year being voted for by attendees then and there.
OD&V services extended to full event management including pre and at event registration, venue, AV and supplier liaison, brand development, host and speaker finding and communications, full production script and master slides development, sponsor outsourcing and coordination, post event activities.
Real, inspirational young people who have benefited from TMBC mentoring took to the stage to share their journeys and express their gratitude to the project and its mentors. Accompanied by an acoustic guitar, one former mentee performed a very pertinent original song. A guest speaker whose story resonated with the audience on all levels was Richard McCann, who captured the audience from the very start and maintained their undivided attention for a full 40 minutes as he talked about his difficult life as a young child, his problems with the law and mental health , but most importantly, how he turned it all around to become the inspirational man he is today.
OD&V worked closely with venue Molineux Stadium, AV supplier Quadrant Events and photographer Greg Faulkner of Highfields to bring this year’s event to life.
