Courses on Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law (CAWSEL) is a professionally developed range of courses in a aimed at providing attendees with a broad appreciation of animal welfare. Aimed at all those with either personal or professional interest in the animal welfare field, the courses attract heavy international attention. Over the past two decades, CAWSEL has welcomed participants from over 30 countries to St Catharine’s College in Cambridge for a two-week period every September. 15 experts in the field of animal welfare, all high regarded eminent academics and professionals, are involved in delivering the material over the two weeks, through a combination of lectures, videos and discussions.
OD&V was appointed as organiser in 2014 and we have managed all course editions since. Our in-house team deliver all marketing activities that promote the course via an extended network of avenues to ensure world-wide reach. Overseeing the registration process and participant communications is a large proportion of the management of CAWSEL, as is venue and speaker liaison. We get involved with accommodation booking, travel arrangements, Visa applications, issuing of certificates as well as website management, brand development and supplies coordination.
